How to Participate —
Key Steps and Guidelines
1

Event Announcement

All the latest information about Ogonyok's dates, theme, and how to apply to participate is published in our community Telegram channel.
2

Project Proposals

Teams and individual participants submit project proposals outlining their concepts and providing visualizations, technical drawings, and a project budget.
3

Review and Selection

The organizing team reviews project proposals and selects projects within a month. Proposals are evaluated for their artistic merit, alignment with the event theme, safety requirements, and community values. Art grants are also awarded at this stage.
4

Preparation

Once their project is approved, participants begin preparing for the event: planning logistics and budgets, assigning roles, and receiving promo codes to purchase tickets for their team.
5

Working with the Organizing Team

Throughout the preparation process, the organizing team stays in touch with project teams, provides guidance and support, and helps bring each project to life as closely as possible to the original proposal.
6

Build

Build begins a few days before the event. Participants arrive on site, construct and install their art, set up camps, and prepare their living spaces.
7

Strike

After Ogonyok, it's time to strike: structures are taken down, burnable artworks are burned, materials are sorted, and everything is removed from the site. Following the Leave No Trace principle, we leave the site in the same condition as we found it — or better.

Looking Ahead to the Next Burn

Time to start thinking about what you'd like to create for the next Ogonyok 🙂
Thank you, and Welcome Home!
